We love this day! It’s the day when we can write about anything we like AND…It’s fun! Our bloggers got straight to work on their devices tapping away at the keyboards with these wonderful pieces you are about to read.
Hello my fellow readers! How are you? Today's blog will be all about my Amstel journey and how I feel about it. Before I worked at Amstel club, I was doing work experience with Umbrella Support called "every 1 cafe" and it was so awesome unlocking my achievements and skills. Every 1 cafe improved my greeting skills and when customers have finished their drinks, they would leave so I would always greet them and say "Thank you for supporting and coming in". I loved every 1 cafe so much but then 3 months later, I found out by Cindy or Jo that I would soon find myself as a waitress over at Amstel club. I was so excited finding out that I had an opportunity to get a job interview with the big bosses and Cindy coming to support me. After the interview they had accepted me and told me that I'm on board the Amstel express (lol). I was nervous and anxious for my job interview especially meeting the bosses. I was happy because I had got a job. I was very excited to see Cindy there for moral support. I was feeling relieved because the job interview over and done with (lol). Opportunities come and go but things always work out in the end. Thank you so much for reading and following in my journey! bye! -Angelina xo It was a great week for me. I drove the golf cart. Cindy let me drive the golf cart and this was fun but Cindy is a crazy driver. Anyway I tried to turn left but Cindy makes me scared because she stops the car with her foot and had to brake to stop. But it was ok. I wasn’t scared. She won’t do it again, oh wait I see now I got new glasses for today. I’m taking my mate Krystle to pick up my glasses and I am excited to see. Ohh……I go out to see Inside out 2 on the weekend with Kristian and the friends. – TJ I am back with the new segment of my travels around the world, last time we talked about Costa Rica and the wonderful jungle and now we are on to our next adventure but, little did I know it’ll be so soon after Costa Rica. Let me explain what happened at lead to the new adventure. My Yaya and I were flying back from Costa Rica but with most travels to remote locations there are stop overs to get back home, I didn’t mind the extra stop over to Los Angeles international airport in USA to board my last flight back home to good old Melbourne and fix my sleep cycle. The trip from LA to Melbourne was a 15-hour flight. So much sleep was needed and luckily it was a night flight when we left LA. We were bound for Melbourne the next day so dad could pick us up, or so I thought. 5 hours into the flight it was quiet and everyone was sleeping, it was 3:30 in the morning when all of the suddenly the plane tilted to the far right and the lights turned on, I woke my Yaya awake saying that the plane isn’t straightened and it was going off course, about a minute after I told her the captain was put on loud speaker, he said that there was a medical emergency on board and we were bound for the nearest airport, there was nothing but water I thought, the captain announced we’ll be detouring to Honolulu at that time. It was safe to say I was shocked and surprised as I looked to my grandmother for assurance. By the time the ambulance came and got the patient off it had already been 3 hours since we landed, luckily for us they announced that they needed to refill the massive A380 jumbo plane, they had to get emergency stairwell just to get everyone off, they gave us food vouchers and a hotel room in the airport as the crew needed a 6 to 8 hours rest. The captain and crew said to us, we’ll be bound for departure at 9:50pm that night so spent the day to relax and enjoy ourselves with the food vouchers we were handed. My Yaya and I decided to book a small submarine cruise just 5 minutes away from the hotel so we didn’t spend the whole day in our room, the view was so amazing as we saw where they filmed Gilligan’s Island. We also had to call mum and dad with the new information about what happened so dad knew when to pick us up, he told us that we had vanished from the radar and no one at Melbourne knew what happened. Ironically, we knew we couldn’t get our luggage off because something like this happened with my brother back in 2007 when he was in Brazil, as he was flying into São Paulo but the plane before his overshot the runway on arrival and crashed in a shell gas station, needless to say my brothers plane got rerouted and he finally contacted us to say he was fine. – Holly What Is Most Important to Me My Dad - He is very supportive, loving, caring and there for me when I am in need. My Dogs - They’ve been there for me unconditionally and give me the best cuddles and they make me really happy. I could not live without my dogs because I love them so very much. Singing - Singing lessons means the world to me because I always had a passion for singing and I take my singing very seriously. I have goals that I would really like to work towards and that is recording my own songs and writing my own songs. Podcasting - that l love because I am putting my experiences. out there into the universe which help me very much and I really love talking into the microphones. It is so much fun it is the best experience. Blogging - I love writing about topics and putting my own words and expressions into my writing and I really love it. It takes me away from reality because I really love being in my own world. Script writing - also very important to me because it allows me to express myself. Handmade - I really love creating something new each week and seeing all my friends it is lots of fun I always have fantastic day. Shopping cheaper because it will benefit my money management skills. Cooking - Because I really would like different meals and develop being more independent in the kitchen and that has always been a goal of mine, but I have had anxieties. But I really would like to work on my independence in the kitchen. Doing things for myself in my home such has cleaning because my independence in my own home doing things for myself means very much to me, but I need some help from my support workers there. I may need more help from my support workers when I am not well and unexpected things come up until I am back on my feet and I can do it for myself and my independence in my home is very important to me. - Gipsy Hi friends we are back again, today's topic is choose your own adventure and my topic is about my adventure with Jeff the Umbrella bear. I got Jeff on Monday and we did Handmade which I do every Monday, for those who do not know what Handmade is, let me explain it to you. Handmade is where we do crafts and last Monday we did tie dyed pillowcases, it was hard but fun, next week we get to see them when they are washed and dry. Every Tuesday we do cooking, this week we made chicken kiev balls, the recipe had lots of steps to prep but it was fun to go through all the steps and after we fried them, we got to eat them. they were ok for a first trial it could have been better if they had more garlic butter oozing in the middle. Wednesday we do bowling ,I have so much fun and we have to knock the pins down and see who the winner is, I haven't won yet but hopefully I will one day. Every Thursday is blogging and it is where we write a piece of writing and then we post it on our blog page. I sometimes find it difficult to think about different topics but there is always someone to help me and I love it. Fridays I work at Every 1 Cafe I take orders and sometimes I make coffees and milkshakes. I also greet customers I enjoy it and I don’t really want it to end because it has made me learn and get more confident with my communication skills, I wish I could still do it and I am going to be very emotional that it is ending. I hope to do it again in the future. Thank you for reading my blog my wonderful readers signing off Beth. Dear readers I would like you to come on a road trip with me. Our 1st shop is Albury. Monday the 3rd, then Tuesday to Canberra for 35th National in ten pin bowling. We bowled against different states. Some days we were doing sightseeing, but most of the days and nights we were competing against other states. This trip we have been planned very carefully because we travelled up there by car and Robert was doing all the driving. We did have a few stops to have a rest and most of the sightseeing was bushland, nature and the farm animals but I loved every moment of it. The countryside is something we don’t often see, if you have ever been to the countryside side it is amazing when you are in the passenger seat. Ok, enough about sightseeing. Lets bowl our hearts out, do it for Victoria. Then on my way to Canberra I was lucky to FaceTime my Umbrella friends, then we got to the hotel safely and we rested before we went out to a local shopping centre and went out for a nice dinner. After dinner we went back to the hotel and a FaceTime with my sister Sarah. Tuesday 4th we started our drive to Canberra via a breakfast stop at McDonald’s and it was cold and chilly. Wednesday we started bowling at 8:00am. I did well. After that I had relaxed day before starting bowling again at 6:45pm. I bowled really well. I was proud of myself. Having a few days off after the competition was great because this gave me the opportunity to go the zoo with my friends, also it was great catching up with my friends from the other States. My VIC State team friend Pino bowled a perfect 300 game. It was the first time in the 35 year history of National Disability. I also was lucky to take Jeff the bear on my trip. We also had Win News Canberra reporting on our competition. There was almost also up to 400 Bowlers competing. It was amazing to meet new people. Have you or a friend competed in a National Competition? Let me tell you why I chose Europe. I chose Europe because I went to Europe with my family a long time ago and I have fond memories. One day in the future I would like to go back to Europe. The three places I would like to visit and see is Paris, Italy and Greece. I’ve been to Paris and what would I do there first? I would find a place to stay and then I would go to Disneyland Paris and go up the Eiffel tower by elevator. I would go to the Louvre Museum and after all that I would try some macaroons. Off to Italy and Greece I would go. In Italy, I would stay in Rome and I would hire a Vespa and would ride around on the Vespa. I would visit the Colosseum and I would go to Venice and Verona, then back to Rome and eat some Italian food. Off to my final destination Greece. I’m now in Greece. I would make sure to see as much of Athens as I can. Mount Olympus is also on my list, and of course I would need to eat some Greek food. What a holiday. Have you ever been to Europe? Written by Charlotte Welcome back to our cosy little corner of the internet, my dear lovely readers. Today, we’re discussing choosing your own adventure. What would you do if you had the chance to create your own journey? The quote of the day “If it doesn’t work out, say thank you. something better will. Imagine having the chance to choose your own journey. Today I’m writing about what your own journey will be by choosing your own path. Remember, every day is a chance to make a positive change. Get ready to fall in with my precious puppy! born on February 6, 2023, she is a charming American Staffordshire cross with a lively and affectionate temperament. As a crossbreed between an American Staffordshire terrier and another breed, possibly a pit bull, my puppy boasts a distinctive appearance and captivating charm that will win your heart over! When we first brought home our new puppy, we gave her the name Athena, but eventually decided to change it to Suki. Despite the change, she has proven to be very sweet and kind, and loves to spend her time chasing the cats, sniffing around, and sleeping while cuddled up next to her humans. But she does love eating hoodies, especially my hoodies. I was stumped on what to write until I saw Suki eating my hoodie, which inspired a great blog post about her. Thank you for reading my blog See ya next time. Kathryn Words that take my fancy… Hello Friends, Are you ready to come with me on another choose your own adventure? Today I have chosen to share with you some of my favourite words and their meanings, most of them I stumbled upon while looking for inspiration on Pinterest or I have heard it somewhere and liked the sound of it and looked it up in a dictionary or online. Always a good time to learn new words and expand our vocabulary. Let’s begin with Bibliophile (bib-lee-oh-file) a bibliophile is a person like me who loves and has a collection of books and has an appreciation for all things books. I love this word because saying it and knowing that it describes me to a tea brings me joy. Speaking of joy and happiness, the next word I want to throw into the ring is Euphoria (yoo-faw-ree-uh), now euphoria is feeling extremely excited and happy. It's another way to say that you are feeling very happy, excited and joyful. What a wonderful feeling Euphoria is, it also just feels so positive and wonderful to say. Hygge (hue-gah) according to merriam-webster.com Hygge means invoking or fostering a sense of coziness, contentment, and well-being. I’m all about anything that is cozy (shout out to my trackies), I didn't want to get the definition of Hygge wrong so I thought it would be better to get it from a dictionary or reliable website. I love this word because of its meaning but also because I have seen it in a few people's houses, and it's just never left my brain. Do you ever just look up at the night sky and marval at the beauty of the stars? Me too, funny enough that brings me to my next and final word; Novalunosis (nova-loon-ohsis) which is the state of relaxation and amazement experienced while gazing upon the stars. I love looking up at the stars and letting it relax and calm my mind. The night sky is very calming, beautiful and mostly unexplored. And much like with the other words it brings me joy. I offer you our readers a challenge to go find three new and interesting words, it can be something that you have learnt today and it's a conversation starter. I end this blog today with all the love and kindness to all our readers. Your friend, Shan.
