My Perfect Special Occasion

Imagine this…You can arrange the perfect day for any occasion. Where will you be? What will you wear? Who will be there? What food will you and most importantly, what is the celebration for?

Our blog topic is what would be our perfect celebration.
My favourite thing to celebrate is my birthday, it's my favourite day of the year! My birthday is March 29th and I will be turning 42. I love spending my birthday with my family and getting lots of presents. For my birthday I want an ice cream cake which is also a smash cake with all my favourite lollies and chocolates inside.

I would love to be on holiday for my birthday in China, maybe even at Shanghai Disneyland. I would spend my day hugging my favourite princess's, going on rides, eating yummy food and seeing the fireworks. I would have a very special dinner with my big family and order dumplings for everyone to eat. I like pork, prawn, seafood and vegetable dumplings with chilli and soy sauce.

I love my birthday and I love dancing so I could also have a dance party and show everyone my new moves. I would perform a dance to a Shrek song which is my favourite movie. I would like if everyone danced with me and we had a big dance party.
See you next week, love princess Claire.

Halloween in America
I’ve always loved Halloween/Horror.
I’ve always dreamt of going to America to celebrate Halloween.
Because their Halloween is in fall and to me that’s a vibe, the Americans go all out as well. They decorate their houses and even do ghost fun houses and corn mazes.

I prefer to do something for Halloween than my birthday, that’s how much I love Halloween.
I even tried to celebrate Halloween a few years ago with a photoshoot, but it didn’t work out, but there’s always next time.
I try and do thirty-one days of horror movies in October. I compile a list of movies I haven’t seen before, so it’s a win-win, new movies and new jump scares. I even tried 25 days of Christmas horror movies, wouldn’t believe how many horror movies are based around Christmas.

Last year my friend and I went to a theme park called Luna Park for Halloween, it was so magical, seeing everyone dressed up. I was a broken doll, and my friend was the crooked neck lady from “The Haunting of Hill House”.

We went into the haunted maze and, boy, was it scary. A person was camouflaged into the wall and kept moving with us. When we were about to leave the area, he yelled “Boo”  they gave us a fright. One of the rooms had an autopsy table with a man being axed in half by a crazy lady with a chain saw.

I also love researching the history of Halloween.
One little fact about Halloween is that turnips were used for the Jack-o’-Lanterns which dates back to Celtic traditions in Ireland and Scotland where they were used to ward off evil spirits.

So as you can see, I’m a Halloween/ horror girly.
Halloween isn’t for everyone, but I think everyone is entitled to a good scare once in their lifetime.

There are many special occasions in the world such as birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, New Year, Easter, and Lunar New Year.
My favourite special occasion is Christmas because it’s such a happy celebration. I especially love spending time with my family and my Umbrella Support friends—we have Christmas gatherings every year. I also love Christmas because I get presents. Wouldn’t it be great if Christmas season was every day?

In my dream Christmas, I would get lots of presents with cute wrapping paper. When I open them, I would find things like: 100 Faber-Castell colour pencils, A new phone, a new tablet and earbuds. A Tsum Tsum Princess Jasmine plush, and a pastel colour cutlery set. I love collecting aesthetic cutlery sets!

Mum would play Michael Bublé Christmas songs (he’s my favourite Christmas singer), and I’d also enjoy listening to Hi-5 Christmas songs.

There would be so much yummy food that Dad cooked: roast chicken, roast potatoes, nuggets, chips, and fried rice. I’d really enjoy it all, and then go for a walk because I’d be so full! Later, when I wasn’t full anymore, I’d eat dessert. Dad would make Oreo cake (he doesn’t cook desserts in real life, but in my story, he does for Christmas).

In my imagination, my house would be bigger and more modern than my current one. It would have pastel-coloured Christmas lights outside, so people walking past would gasp at how pretty they were.

Inside, my house would even have elevators and stairs—so if I felt lazy, I could just take the elevator to my room! In my room, I’d have a TV so I could watch a Christmas movie. I would choose The Polar Express, a classic Christmas movie.

Even my bedroom would feel festive. My bedsheets would have teddy bears wearing Santa hats, and my doona cover would have Winnie the Pooh holding a Christmas wreath. I would also receive a Hello Kitty Christmas card from a close school friend, and I’d send her one back too.

Apart from Christmas, I also love Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. These days are important because my parents sacrifice so much for me.

For Mother’s Day, I would give Mum some BTS (K-pop) gifts because she likes them. For Father’s Day, I’d give Dad a Geelong Cats dinner plate. (I don’t like footy, but my dad is a big supporter of Geelong Cats.) Both of my parents would love their presents.

For Mother’s Day, we’d go eat fish and chips at San Remo, and for Father’s Day, we’d eat at Pizza Pizza in Lorne. If the weather was sunny, we’d sit outside together.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s blog. I hope you enjoyed my story about my favourite special occasions.
Love from, Jacinda

I had a phone call from my sister because my birthday is coming up and we are planning on going away to Torquay. Dad is coming and my sister too. Maybe my nephew will come. I hope they give me a cake. I love birthdays.

Hey readers how are you? Today’s topic is your perfect day or occasion and I have chosen to write my blog about my Christmas dress story.

It was a few weeks before Christmas and I looked on Temu and I saw a beautiful Christmas dress. I showed my mum and she said she loved it. I asked her if I could buy it and she said yes I was so excited to be able to buy it. But oh boy it was a long wait for it to arrive.

I didn’t even want to wait until it came because I wanted to wear it straight away.
Each day I checked my emails for news about my dress arriving. Finally I got an email to say it was coming. After what seemed like years but was only weeks it arrived and it was more beautiful  than I thought it was in the picture.

I wore it to Umbrella Christmas party and Dinner with friends. I loved it and everyone said how beautiful the dress was and how beautiful I looked. I felt so special.

Readers, I have a question for you do you have a perfect day or special occasion and how would you spend it. Please let us know in the comments below. Thank you for reading my blog this is bubbly Beth signing off until next week.

My celebration is coming up, I am seeing AC/DC in November at the MCG with my biological father. It will be a great opportunity to see them and then a week later I’ll be seeing Jimmy Barnes at Mount Duneed Estate in Geelong, with one of my friends who has organised our tickets for Jimmy Barnes. I’m so grateful that I’m going to meet the bands who are performing on that day.

It will be a hot November day because it’s nearly coming up to summer that’s why it’s going to be hot and I’m sort of looking forward to it but the other half is telling me it may not be nice because I’m hoping that I don’t get a migraine on any of those days because I’ll be so upset if I got sick. It’s going to be a crazy experience. The highlight is seeing AC/DC at the MCG.
This is Ash signing off keep on rocking.

The one thing I would celebrate if I had unlimited money and time and ideas, is to organise a New Years party at my place and have lots of friends to come to the party, four of my closest friends would come to celebrate New Year together.

We would have lots of chatter and many laughs together and reminise the good times we have had in the last 12 months.

To celebrate this very special day/night we would build a very large firepit that would burn for 12 hours or more.

We would throw on lots of wood and a little touch of kerosene just to get it started whilst standing back a few metres for the flame to connect, and just for fun maybe put kerosene in water pistols to keep the fire going.
We would play rap music and the volume would be the loudest you could play.

This would be a night to remember and the best part about having the party is that I'm with my friends and family.
Nick

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog. Today we are talking about special occasions. This blog comes at the perfect time as I have just celebrated a two-month milestone with a special someone who I love and cherish very much. Not only was it our anniversary but it was a milestone birthday. I had a great time at the basketball with my brother sitting in courtside seats. I love special occasions even before as it builds excitement and anticipation for the event. I love Christmas as I know the cricket is just around the corner. I also love New Years as those who know me know I like to party. I love going to parties and events to celebrate. I love listening to all the music and dancing (albeit very badly).

What special occasions do you enjoy?

Keep being awesome - Ben1

How I would celebrate Halloween
My name is Korey and I as going to celebrate on Friday The 31st of October with many friends on Halloween day.

I am going to trick or treat and I'm also making the Jack-o'-Lantern.
I have watched many horror movies and my favourite movie is Child's Play.

My face would be painted to look like Michael Myers who is an actor in Halloween and my costume would be the hockey mask that Jason Voorhees wears in the movie and his creepy looking jacket with a machete in my hand.

I would go with my friends around the neighbourhood, and hopefully get lots of treats.
This is Korey signing off and wishing everyone a Happy Halloween.

Dear Readers, this week’s topic is about a special occasion.
Let me start by telling you about last year’s red carpet event. It was on a Saturday and I got to go as a guest and I got to walk the red carpet and we all took photos and I’m so excited for this years red carpet event. Being a part of Hellow Media means I get to dress up, do my nails, do my hair and do my makeup.  I’m excited to walk the red carpet and take photos and watch all our hard work on screen.

What is your era?

What’s your era?

The oxford dictionary defines the term era as:

: A period of time beginning with some special date or event.

Today our bloggers write about a time that is an important era in their lives.

I was born with a disability in 1999 and I’m also deaf. The doctor will fix my body like my hips and my hands to fix them. When I was little I got a bad brain and everything but now I’m happy and peaceful. I’m helpful and a nice guy but sometimes I’m cheeky. Anyway soon I’m going back to America. I’ll be happy to be there but it’s hot out there. I miss my grandpa and my friends who have passed away and one more thing about my old dog I miss her so much sooo I will be ok and have a fun time like a party Umbrella time from TJ

Today's blog is about choosing a different era to live in and what I would be doing.

If I could go back to another era l would go to the future in 2035. I would probably be doing the same things as I do now, being with my friends, learning new dance moves, watching Disney movies and going on lots of holidays. I hope in 10 years time a Disneyland would have opened in Melbourne and I could go there all the time! I think there will be new things that I like and new superhero's that I will love. I think there will be more games for me to play on my IPad, maybe even a newer version of an iPad. I would like to dress up as Wonder Woman, Captain America and I would have a big wardrobe of costumes. I think the future will be so much fun with my friends and family.
See you next week
Love Claire

I’ve chosen the 2000 era because it was such a good time, full of happy memories for me. There were so many popular, kid-friendly cartoons back then.

Things were different in the year 2000—there were no smartphones. I remember watching movies and TV shows on DVD or free-to-air TV.

If I were living my day in 2000, I would start by watching cartoons to stop myself from feeling bored. I’d watch Playhouse Disney or Disney Channel.

I’d also play with toys and do colouring in. My choice would be a Winnie the Pooh colouring book, because he’s one of my favourite classic Disney characters. I’d use my Faber-Castell 48 colour pencils to make it bright and colourful.

Then, I’d go with my parents to a CD and DVD store, because there was no Spotify or Apple Music back then. I’d hope they had F4 CDs (the Taiwanese boyband). I’d feel anticipation—excited but a little anxious in case it sold out. Luckily, they would have plenty in stock, and I’d be over the moon once I got my CD.

After that, I’d visit Toys “R” Us to buy toys like a Disney Princess castle, Barbie dolls, and Minnie Mouse or Winnie the Pooh plush toys. I’d feel that same anticipation again—excited but worried I might miss out—but luckily, the shelves would be full of what I wanted.

If it were winter, I’d wear my Strawberry Shortcake jumper and track-pants in baby pink. They would feel warm and cozy. Do you like that cartoon? I still do, even though it’s not so popular now. If it was a hot day, I’d wear my Lilo & Stitch t-shirt with shorts.

For breakfast, i’d eat Disney cereals—Hunny Bs, with a picture of Pooh on the box. I also want to try Sipahh straws (I never tried them in real life, but my cousin did). I’d choose choc-mint flavour because the packet is aqua, my favourite colour.

For lunch, I’d have a Happy Meal from McDonald’s—nuggets, small fries, and a Coke—because the toys were so good in the 2000s. I’d get a Care Bears toy, which would be super cute.
For dinner, Dad would make me macaroni and cheese, because he’s a great cook.

Thanks for reading my story about the year 2000. I hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
Love from, Jacinda

I was born at the start of the 90s, so my whole childhood was within the 90s.
But I wish I was born in the 60s.
Why you ask?
My parents were born in the 60s, I would love to relive their childhood and to see if all of the stories they told me were true and there was no social media, which would have been great and bad.  My mum even says today, the social media is the cause of the trouble, especially for bullying, because in the 60s, people could go home and relax without going online and being bullied by keyboard warriors.  Even if they were getting bullied, they could escape it for a bit.

Also in the 60s they had good music too, like the Mama’s and Papa’s, Credence Clearwater.  The 60s also had some great tv shows, not like today.
We sometimes even flick the TV on to I dream of Jeannie and Bewitched.
Half of the jokes back then, I don’t think would be acceptable now.

Both my parents would also say, they could leave the house in the morning and return when the street lights came on or for tea. To me that sounds like freedom.

But I guess each era would have the good and the bad, where the 60s all sounded great, but in school the teachers would use the ruler on the knuckles, so I’m glad I didn’t go to school back then.

The Woodstock music festival looked like fun, I would loved to have been there.
To be quite honest I think I have an old soul or a hippie soul, so I think I was born in the wrong era.  But sadly I was born in the 90s, at least I’m older than the internet.
Haley.

My name is Nick and I'm  stepping into a Time Machine which I built over the last twenty years.
My destination will be in the future and I am programming the Time Machine to 2099, which is 74 yrs from now. Whilst I'm in the time machine my age will stay the same as the day I entered this amazing machine.

When I arrive at my destination I will be surprised to see so many changes.
There could be flying cars with wings attached to the body work and no need for petrol as it would be all electric with powerful batteries under the bonnet. This battery would be capable of running for 10 days before  we have to recharge.

The biggest challenge would be creating a safe and effective vertical take-off. This amazing flying car could rise up to 20,000 feet, it would have controls in the car that are automatic and have senses all around the car. You would never have a car accident in the air. This is my dream for the future .
Signing off from my magical flying car, Nick.

Hello and welcome to new era in blogging. If I could go into any era, I would love to travel to the 80’s to listen to all the cool music and find out what life was like in that time. I would love to watch all the Hawthorn premierships and watch all the sport and see all the developments that has happened. I love comparing what life was like in the past compared to now. I wonder where politics would be? Would we have all the infighting that we have today? I would love to see the advancements in technology and wonder if people would truly believe where we are today. It also makes me wonder where we will be in fifty years time. I wonder how the next global crisis will be handled? Will we have hoverboards? What about Jetpack wheelchairs? Will there be world peace? What will the world look like? Will Taylor Swift have another Era’s tour in 20 year’s time?
Keep being awesome and I’ll see you in the next life, ……oh I mean next week.

Hey readers how are you today? Today’s topic is if you could go to another era what would it be and why?
I would go backwards to the year of Disco that is between 1970s to the early 1980s. The reason I want to go to the Disco era is because of the music and the clothes.

To be in a disco with its loud music, strobe lights and mirrored disco balls hanging from the ceiling would be fabulous.  I would be wearing platform shoes and my very short floral dress. My friends would be wearing bell-bottom jeans with halter tops or a pantsuit or a miniskirt and of course platform shoes or long white boots.

We would dance the night away, singing karaoke to our favourite songs such as Stayin Alive, I will survive and our absolute favourite is Dancing Queen.

What an amazing time it would be to live in. Readers, have you lived in the disco era or know someone who did?

I have a question for you readers, if you could go back to any era what time would it be and why? Or, would it be forwards in time?
Please let us know in the comments

In this week’s blog I was born in the summer of the 1880s. That’s the year of Ned Kelly and the Eureka stockade was happening and I was only 3 days older than Ned Kelly.  Both Ned’s family and my family where good friends and both of our parents were in the same prison cells and Ned asked me to be part of the Kelly Gang of course I said yes. I’ll be with Ned but they will sometimes be riding to Beechworth jail to get Ned out of the jail and help his brothers and sisters out with anything that they need. Sometimes I’ll be helping my family out as well and I’ll be riding to Albury to see Neds Aunty and Uncle as I got the news that Ned was sent to the old Melbourne jail to be hung. I told them not to hang Ned because he did not do it. I hope I could change history.
Such is Life, Ash.

Lets talk about Eras...
I want to start with a definition of Era, according to Oxford Languages on Google the definition of an Era; is a long and distinct period of history. Some examples of different Eras are; the Medieval Era, Victorian Era, Renaissance Era and The Cold War Era. Now our topic would be to talk about an Era or Eras that we might want to be in or are interested in. Maybe someone could make up a future era to write about that includes time travel and all the techie techie stuff.

When I heard the word Era, I immediately thought of Taylor Swift because of her Eras Tour. The Eras Tour was Taylor’s sixth concert tour that went from the seventeenth of March 2023 to the eighth of December 2024. This was a tour that celebrated and showcased the different eras of Taylor’s music. I believe that the tour started in America then continued onto other places in the world including Australia. Keeping in mind that the information I have might be off, I did my best to check reliable sources and I apologise if I have anything wrong.

Here are the different Taylor Swift Eras; Taylor Swift era, Fearless era, Speak Now era, Red era, 1989 era, Reputation era, Lover era, Folklore era, Evermore era, Midnights era and The tortured Poets Department era. Each one of you will notice (or not) is the name of her albums. Also it’s something special that Taylor can celebrate and share with her Swifties. The different Eras and the Eras tour gave Swifties (Taylor’s Fans) a chance to come together and share their love for Taylor and for their favorite eras of Taylors music.

My favourite part of all of this is that each time there’s a tour bracelets are swapped, friendships are made and everyone gets to have a wonderful time just being their happy Swiftie selves. Maybe one day I’ll get a ticket and be able to see Taylor in concert.
BRING ON THE NEW ERA!
From your friend,
Shan

Dear readers, this week’s topic is an era of time   Let me start by telling you about an era of time that I would go to would be 2035. If I'm being honest I don’t know why I would go to 2035. It would be lots of fun. In my future there would be robotic cars, I would be much older and would be a professional chef and there would be jetpack wheelchairs too. As a professional chef, I would have my own restaurant and I would have all different dishes but my speciality would be Hungarian food. My restaurant would be in Garfield and it would be an inclusive workplace where I would hire people of all abilities.
What era do you think would be the best?

What is your dream job?

14/8/2025

Have you ever daydreamed about what it would be like to land your dream job? Whether it’s flying planes, being a famous performer, writing novels, or being a doctor, everyone has an idea of the “perfect” career. Today we will be reading about our participants dream jobs and why. Get ready to be inspired, surprised, and maybe even motivated to chase your own dream.

If I could have any job I would be a dance teacher because I love to dance. I would open up my own dance studio and call it "Claire's New Moves". I would teach ballroom dance including dances like the salsa and the waltz. The first concert I would put on would be called Shrek and there would be all songs from the Shrek story. At the concert everyone would get a trophy and also a special award. I would have students of all ages from three to one hundred and ten and everyone is welcome at my studio. I would have other dance teachers also teaching dance so there could be more classes for everyone. Everyone would call me Princess Claire at my studio and sometimes I might dress as a Princes too.
Thank you, this is my dream job
Princess Claire

This week we are talking about our dream job. I have many dream jobs. My first dream job is to be a paramedic or working in a morgue to do a DNA analysis on the person. I would also like to work in a mental hospital. I’d love to work as a private investigator to spy on people who have been in criminal activity or on people who’s wives or husbands are having an affair without them knowing about what’s going on.  It would be cool to work on a body and do an autopsy on them, and see what the cause of death is. In a mental hospital I would help the patients out with their own mental health and make sure they feel safe when they get home and a paramedic would be seeing babies being born on the side of the road or helping someone who has a fall or had a seizure or a stroke or a heart attack.

Ash

I already have a regular job every Wednesday, and I think it’s really good to work and earn money—even though I have mild disabilities. I feel proud of what I’ve achieved.

If I could choose my dream job, I would love to work at a Disney Supermarket. I wish we had one here in Australia! I already have experience working in retail, so I think working at a Disney Supermarket would be so fun.

I would still do facing (that’s when you tidy up the products on the shelf to make them look neat), because that’s the job I can do best in a supermarket. Working at the cash register would be too overwhelming for me—I find handling money difficult.

My day would look a bit different because this supermarket would have all Disney-themed snacks! Imagine potato chips with Winnie the Pooh on the packet, or biscuits with Olaf on the box. That would be so exciting!

The uniform would be special too. Male workers would wear a red uniform with Mickey Mouse, and female workers would wear a pink uniform with Minnie Mouse. Of course, I’d wear the pink Minnie uniform because I’m a girl and Minnie is so cute.

I would work the same hours as I do at Woolworths—3 PM to 6 PM—and I’d work once a week, every Wednesday. That means I would have to resign from Woolworths and tell my manager that I got a better job at the Disney Supermarket. It’s better because everything is Disney-themed, and as you know, I love Disney so much. My Woolworths manager would miss me though—I’ve been working there for 8 years this November.

The first people I would tell about my new dream job are my nuclear family—my parents. If my brother, who lives overseas, video calls them, I’ll tell him too and say, “I got a better job at the Disney Supermarket!” I know they’ll all be proud of me.

After that, I’d send a text to my Nan in Indonesia and tell her the good news. Maybe I’ll text my Aunty too—or maybe Nan will forward the message to her!

On my first day at the Disney Supermarket, I’d be welcomed by my manager and co-workers. My manager (she’s a lady) would show me around the store and say, “Take your time and don’t rush.” Then she’d let me know which aisle I’ll be facing.

We had a Disney pop-up store back in June, but wouldn’t it be amazing to have a permanent Disney-themed supermarket?

Thanks so much for reading. I hope all the Disney fans out there loved my story!
Love, Jacinda

When I was in High school, I’ve always wanted to become a chef, so I did all of the cooking classes since year 7, all through year 12. I even did a cake and bake class.
I had a great teacher who would help me with a step ladder for me to reach the stove and bench.
I remember doing a project in food technology class where we had to pick a country and cook a three course meal for my family.
I did Ireland, I can’t remember the entree but the main meal was a potato stew, which was delicious.
My whole life was set on being a chef.
In year ten or eleven, we did a test about suitable careers for you.
I saw chef was not on my list of suitable careers so I was very discouraged about it, that shook my whole life up.

I graduated high school, with nothing to really look forward too.
Took me a while to get the confidence to start handing out my resumes, but no luck.
I even applied for a job that were advertising but, they would say we weren’t advertising, which lowered my confidence again.
I felt stuck in a rut. After a while,
I got a job at a plant nursery (wasn’t my ideal  job), but to my surprise I actually did like to be outside. Talking to the plants and weeding. I felt like I was heading somewhere, sadly I got let go from that job, but I got another job at another nursery, which was close to home.
I was there for a few months, sadly again I was let go because of a business shut down.

I had a few weeks of being in a slump, I had an idea to start a business called “ability weeding” so I handed out flyers, hoping it would take off, but sadly it did not. Not even one customer, apart from my parent’s garden.  Which was totally fine.

Then I ended up doing work experience at a restaurant also near my house, which was great, and after a few months of work experience, the restaurant had offered me a job, I gladly accepted it and I have been there ever since.

In saying all of this, you can still dream of things, but sometimes the universe has other things planned for you. I’m okay with that.
I’m grateful for my experience in high school to cook for all those years, and to experience new and exciting job opportunities.
Also never let your dreams go, sometimes you have to take a different path to fullfil your dream no matter how long or short.
You have to do what makes you happy.
Haley

Today’s blog topic is what is my dream job and why. If I could have any job I would open up an animal hotel. This hotel would be for pets and pets only! And would be for when someone is going on holiday and can’t bring their pet with them but want them to have their own little getaway. Each pet would get their very own room and have a dedicated staff member. The hotel would be like a resort and have activities for all different types of pets. The resort would have a chef who would make meals for the animals instead of just regular pet food. I would spend my day cuddling all the pets and playing with them. This would be my dream job because I love animals! I would call the hotel ‘Peaches Hotel’.
Thanks for reading, see you next week
Annie

My dream job would be to sell my “everyday people” merchandise at a market.  I would go to Box Hill market, and I would sell my jumpers, hats, t-shirts and my friend would sell her tie dye clothes at the market too. It will be fun and we would get ice cream at the end of the market day.
Ben 2

Hey readers how are you?  Today’s topic is what is your dream job. My dream job is having a business of my own or helping one of my closest friend’s who has a cookie business. My friend sometimes sells her cookies at markets, I got asked if I wanted to help her and I said yes please.
I loved it so much that she inspired me to start my own business and if I could do this, this is what it would look like.
I would have a table set up with a beautiful pink and white checkered table cloth. It would look very pretty and very tempting for people to buy my goodies. I would have my business name on t-shirts and aprons and my logo would be on the containers. At the end of the table would be a poster telling people about my business.
It would be a very long day and hopefully I would make lots of money and I could ask my friends if they would like to help me.
This is Beth signing off until next week!

My dream job would be to work on a huge cruise ship bigger than any ship in the world and it would travel faster than any other which would give us more time to see many countries.
On my cruise ship it would have five swimming pools one especially for the trampoline which would be attached to one pool and you could perform water bombs off the trampoline into the pool.
There would be 600 staff and I would be the Captain of the cruise ship ( Captain Nick ).This ship would cater for 3000 passengers also.
My job would be overseeing staff and staying in the control room cruising the ship around the world.
Also being Captain I am able to go down to the engine rooms to make sure everything is working as it should be and everyone one is working safely.
This cruise ship would be my ideal job especially being able to go down to the engine room and looking at thousands of buttons and lights and even better knowing what all the switches are for.
Signing off now as there is a fire alarm sounding somewhere on the ship .... yikessssss....
Nick

What would be my dream job?
I think many people talk about their dream jobs as a getting to know you type topic and it seems like an ice breaker of sorts. It’s come up a few times through life, first day of school, first day at a new group and many other first day getting to know you activities. I do remember that I once was asked what my dream job was for the end of year book in grade six. That was the only time it came up on the last day of something.
I have had both realistic dream job ideas and wildly imaginative dream jobs that include unicorns and all the magical mysteries from deep in my mind and heart. I think it would be really cool to do something creative with Disney behind the scenes just quietly creating Disney magic. Maybe write a short novel because that seems fun but I think I’d publish it under a different name so that I could avoid too much attention if it got wildly popular.
Honestly, I think anything creative would be wonderful. Somewhere I can create and bring joy to others without too much attention being brought on me. My introverted “self” dreams of a quietly creative setting that brings joy to others but also to myself. A job that’s also good for the soul and mind, with space to dream up new things to bring joy and create stories that inspire.
Not once did I have an answer like this in the getting to know you sessions because there wasn’t space or time for it. I never had time to really think about it. Maybe when you have the time you can sit down with your favourite beverage and ask yourself “What would my dream job be?” Maybe you will surprise yourself with what you come up with.
Thank you for joining us today,
Your friend,
Shan.

Dear readers, this week’s topic is what is your dream job?
Let me start by telling you about my dream job. It has always been to be a chef and I recently  achieved my dream of being a chef because I got a job where I get to work in the kitchen working with the chefs and I’m feeling so excited and anxious to start my new job next week.   But I am excited to learn how to make different dishes and dessert and to learn more cooking techniques. This will help me with future employment in providing me with more confidence and recipes to make. I will let you readers know how my first day goes next week.
What's your dream job and why?
Written by Charlotte

My dream job is car racing to help my dad and that would be my work.  I would have a yummy lunch and my uniform would be black. I would save all my money for America holidays.

Hello readers. It’s time to tune into another blog. My dream jobs would be anything to do with sports media or media in general. I’ve always had an interest in media as I love looking at everything technical. It doesn’t matter if it’s the newspaper, tv, radio, social media just to name a few. I have had a few work experiences in sport and media which I would love to expand on my experience and career so I can explore my options. I love trying to figure out what’s going on behind the scenes when something goes wrong. I love coming to the media program as I have a leadership role where I can expand on my own skills so I can launch my own career. I have my own podcast so I feel like this is a great stepping stone for me. What does your career look like? How do you plan on achieving it?

Keep being your awesome selves and remember. Knowledge is power.

Choose your own adventure – July 2025

Hello and welcome to our July edition of CHOOSE OUR OWN ADVENTURE! Today our bloggers have been given the challenge in their blogs to incorporate the words:

WHERE – A PLACE

WE’RE – WE ARE

WEAR – CLOTHES

Why is the English language so tricky?

Todays blog is choose your own adventure and I’m going to talk about my nana.

My nana’s name is Yvonne, where she lives is Cranbourne, which isn’t too far from me. My nanna used to be a midwife so she loves babies. She is extremely talented at knitting and her favourite thing to knit is baby clothes, she makes them for babies to wear. I love spending time with my nanna and doing things like going to the shops, having lunch and just hanging out. We’re going to go to the shops soon probably to fountain gate, that’s our favourite place to go. My nanna bought me the key chain for my phone which I love and is personalised , she is always thinking of me and getting me little presents. - This is Annie signing off, see you next week.

Today we are blogging on a nice, sunny day. I'm going to blog about my cruise in Queensland. I went on a cruise a few weeks ago with my family in Queensland, it was lots of fun! We ate lots of food! Some of the food we ate was pizza, dumplings, and drinks like Diet Coke and Diet Sprite, they are my favourites. On the cruise, we had Christmas in July, so I did lots of dancing and singing with my family. There were beautiful Christmas decorations, we had a Christmas lunch and dinner; it was delicious. I liked watching all the waves on the boat, it was really cool. On the cruise, I watched shows with dancing and singing; I enjoyed them.

On another trip, I went to Queensland, where we went to Sea World and Movie World. They are both favourites because I loved them both. In Sea World, I went on a big, scary ride! It was lots of fun. I saw dolphins; they were so cute; they were swimming in the water, jumping in and out of the water, and doing tricks, it was so cool. In Movie World, there are lots of movies and shows. Movie World has lots of scary movies and rides! I wore 3D glasses, and it was so good. I went on a ride at both Movie World and Sea World that got me wet!! I went down a big slide and it got me wet, and another one that sprayed me with water! I enjoyed my trips in Queensland.

I'm very excited because I got new shoes! I love them so much, so I wanted to tell you all! My shoes are blue and purple in colour; I'm wearing them today! I also got a new haircut in Queensland, I feel pretty with my new haircut. - See you next week, Claire.

Kumon is a maths tutoring program I did in the past. I want to share what it was like for me and where I used to go for it. I did Kumon at Metro Permata, which was near where I used to live, so it wasn’t far from my house. Most of the time, my housemaid walked me to Kumon on Tuesdays and Fridays. But if it was raining, my mum would drive me instead.

At Kumon, there was no strict rule about time—I didn’t have to be punctual. I could come anytime during opening hours. I usually went during the day, before lunchtime, and had lunch afterward. There was also no dress code, so I could wear anything I liked. I usually wore a t-shirt and shorts because Indonesia is very hot. I remember getting a lovely t-shirt from Kumon. It wasn’t compulsory to wear, but I liked it. The shirt was white with blue sleeves. It had a picture of the earth, with children standing underneath it, and it said “I Like Kumon” on top.

I bought a tote bag with my Kumon homework and a small pencil case that had a grey lead pencil and an eraser. When I arrived, I would write my name and the date on the worksheets and start working. After finishing the worksheets, I had to answer a math question by speaking with the Kumon teacher. If I did very well, the teacher would let me choose a sticker! Do you like stickers? I’m a big girl now, but I still love them.

There were lots of stickers to choose from—cartoon ones like Minnie Mouse, Tweety, Snoopy, and Pooh Bear. The teacher would cut them up and keep them in plastic containers for us to pick from.

Sometimes, I also got coupons from Kumon. I could use the coupons to get small prizes like stationery, toys, or lunch bags. I remember choosing a Pikachu pencil case once, and another time I picked a cute lunch bag that I used for school. I liked Kumon because there were cute stickers, no strict dress code, and no pressure to be on time like school.

But there were some things I didn’t like. Kumon didn’t have long holidays like school, and we always had homework. One time, the teacher made a joke and said “Sleep over here!”—she was just kidding, but I found it annoying. Kumon also got harder, so my mum decided it was better for me to stop in first grade.

Now you’ve learned a bit about what Kumon is like. Thanks so much for reading my blog. It means a lot to me. - Love from, - Jacinda

Choose your own adventure
One day, one of the Umbrella staff and I went out to a pizza shop where we were going to have lunch, and we had a Hawaiian pizza together. The Hawaiian Pizza was delicious.
Delia had chocolate ice-cream which is her favourite, And I had strawberry ice cream which is my favourite. I also went to 7/11 with Delia as well after dinner. I decided to wear my everyday people hoodie. We’re cool when we eat pizza!  Ben2

Where is a place I would go to? my own home and this will be beautiful small house and small town where I would build a small house and small stuff. We’re going to have good stuff and good food, wear good clothes, try buy nice clothes on my own and they will be joker shoes and this will be my joker and I will make sure I look good. I will be back to America soon but not sure what day. - Tyson

Hi my name is Isabella, I’m 11 year old. I’m fascinated about Mermaids. My Grandma gave me one when I was 5 and  ever since then I’ve loved them and any chance I could, I would go into the water of any kind I spend hours in the water.

A few years later, I went on holiday with my family, I couldn’t wait to get  to the lake,
As soon as I could, I changed my clothes into my bathers and I walked down to the lake which was where most people spend their summer days with their families.

For some reason there was no one there today, it was a bit gloomy in weather, but that didn’t stop me from going into the water. I swam for miles and miles, not noticing on where I was. I poked my head up from the water, looked around. I didn’t see anything familiar to me.

I saw an old looking cabin with a fire going out the front, I thought I would go up and ask who ever who was there where I was or how far away was  from my family cabin.
I pulled my hair to one side and rung out the lake water and tilted my head to let the water out.  I stretched my arms to get the heat from the fire. There seemed to be no one around, A few moments later a man in a wheel chair comes out the cabin door.  He’s shouted “Hey, who are you”  I turned around and said. “Isabella, do you need help down the path”

“No, I can manage, I will be right down”
He got to the fire, now the weather was gloomy but it was still warm out. The man was wearing a blanket on his lap.

He tugged the blanket to make it cover his legs and hips. But I did see a glimpse of something sparkly and shiny,  We both had something in common. “Mermaids” we spoke about mermaids till the sun set and into the dark.  The amber ashes were flying away with the wind. The guy, said “I don’t think you should go back now, especially in the lake water” I replied “why?” He took a big deep breath and he threw off his blanket and he didn’t have legs, but a teally colour sparkly shiny mermaid  tail.

I was gobsmacked! He was a real merman, I couldn’t believe it, I only thought it was folklore and fairytales. He said “it’s getting late, you can have my bed, it’s the first room to your right, past the lounge room” So I went into the cabin,  he stay out there. In the darkness, with a tin of bourbon in his hand.

I woke up to a sound of splashing, I ran outside to see the empty wheel chair close to the edge of  the sandbank near the water, I quickly took off my clothes and went and couldn’t find him,

I almost gave up. I saw a glowing aurora and a splash, I quickly swam over there, he was there swimming and talking to the fish
He looked at me and  swam to me, he lured me down, I mean so deep I couldn’t see the outskirts of the  sky anymore. I had an out of body experience, my life flashed before my eyes.

He helped me up to the sand bank, I was in shock, no pain no nothing,  I tried to move my legs to pick myself up,  it couldn’t, I looked down  I  saw a purple/pink mermaid tail,  I asked him “am I a mermaid now?” He murmured “Yes, I’ve been watching you for years, every summer, I knew you were the one”

I was excited, worried, all of the emotions,
I was a real mermaid.
Few years later, we’re still mermaids, we had two kids, both humans until the  moment.  They can turn into mermaids, if they would like to. – Haley

Dear readers how are you? Today’s topic is choosing your own adventure, and I have chosen to write my blog about a holiday. I’m going on an adventure to Bali in Indonesia with my support workers Cindy, Bernie, and Delia for 2 wonderful fun weeks.

We will be flying Air Malaysia and flying first class. Once we arrive, we will get a taxi to a beautiful accommodation place called Double Six and will get upgraded to the Penthouse..

Our plan is to go to the Bali Zoo where there are many animals like Sumatran Tigers, Zebra's and Meerkats and ducks and elephants that you can ride on. On day two we are going to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary where we will have to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts to keep the bugs off us and take our jewellery off as the monkeys are well known for stealing jewellery and bags off you and anything shiny.

While we are there, we will visit the temples where you must be respectful, quiet, and dress appropriately to their customs. The next few days will be eating and sitting around the pool and hopefully having many massages and soaking in the spa and many facials. This is Bethany signing off and feeling very excited about this “adventure”.

Hello and welcome to another blog. Today we’re diving into another choose your own adventure. I had a great time at my brother’s buck’s party on Saturday and I got to wear one of my favourite shirts. I went go carting and then into the city for drinks. I really enjoy getting out and about and spending time with friends and family. I love to wear all kind of out there shirts and clothes. I have a pair of pink tie dye pants. Multiple tie dye shirts and even a tie dye pillowcase and doona cover. I also love surprises and I know I have a couple coming up for my birthday which I’m really excited for. Do you like surprises? Do you find it hard to plan what to wear because you don’t know where you are going?

Surprise.......that finishes my blog for the week but keep your eyes peeled for where my next blog will take us and keep being awesome. Ben1

Dear readers this week’s topic is choose your own adventure
Let me start by  telling you about  a  made up story and it takes place in Paris where I go for a holiday and I wear nice casual outfits.  My friend Bethany and myself go to a cute little French cafe for brunch were we have crepes and croissants and Beth and myself drink delicious hot chocolate. I’m drinking some yummy cherry juice and after brunch we're going to explore Paris and we will go to Disney in Paris. Our holiday ended. We had so much fun that we didn’t want to go back home but we had to. We were treated to a luxurious first  class fight home and we felt like royalty. We decided to go back to Paris after having such an amazing holiday.
Where would you like to go on holiday?

Today I would like to talk about my favourite movie called ‘No Escape’ starring Owen Wilson. It’s about an American engineer and his family company that specialises in water systems. Where he goes to an unnamed country although it was filmed in Thailand.

The character Owen is played by Jack Dwyer. First day there he goes to buy a paper and witness a riot between protesters and police. It is very violent escapes but is seen by the leader of the protesters and is followed.

The movie is an action packed, very violent and shows Jack and his family escaping from protesters by paddling the river. They are assisted by two men who are secret MI5 staff who are wearing normal clothes. It was a great movie it would be good as a VR game we are working on it. I would like to watch it again. I would love to be an actor in this movie. - Nick.

Today I’m choosing my own adventure to go to a different territory where the sun shine’s every day and every night. We’re my friends and I are having a great time together and I’ll be wearing shorts, singlets and thongs. I can’t wait to wear my summer clothes again. My friends and I will be drinking Great Northern beers, Bundaberg Rum and Jim Beam as well, I’ll be having a blast with my friends and enjoying where we’re staying. – Ash

It’s another choose your own adventure blog...
We have challenge words to add to our blogs this week and they are; where, as in where are you? We're, as in we are writing a blog and wear; as in what am I going to wear today? I really needed to get them out of the way first up because otherwise I’d forget.

These words can be a bit tricky and can trip up even the most seasoned writer. What are some words that constantly trip you up and make life a bit confusing when writing? I’d be really interested to read your answers in the comments.

I have a charm bracelet that has a huge amount of sentimental value as all the charms were gifts to me from important people in my life. It began with a bracelet with one charm from a best friend as a birthday gift and now I have 21 different charms that are small pieces of my heart. Obviously, I don't mean actual pieces of my heart, that seems a bit extreme and possibly bad for my health. There are rainbows, unicorns, a Pegasus, my Harry Potter house, a family tree, a butterfly, paw prints, a dog, a cat, a book that opens, multiple lion king charms, minnie mouse, the cheshire cat, Mrs. Pots with Chip, angel wings, my birth stone, Stitch and a sister charm.

Each of these charms were brought with love and have more than just monetary value to me, there’s a story to my bracelet and it makes me feel special to know so many people have contributed to its story. Some by my grandparents, my parents, best friends, my sister and one was chosen for me by my best friends' daughter. One day both my best friend's children will also choose charms to be represented on my bracelet so they too can feel special and have a physical reminder that they are a part of my story and I apart of theirs.

I could go on forever if I had the time and space but as with all good stories this one must come to an end. Do you have a special piece of jewellery that you love and cherish for more than its monetary value? Or maybe a childhood toy or anything that means the world to you? I also have a mouse door stop that was my great grandparents doorstop that I have loved since childhood but i will talk about him another time. Yes, that means you must keep coming back!
