Choose your own adventure

This week, it’s time to get creative with our very own Choose Your Own Adventure! 
Everyone gets to write their own story and take it in whatever direction they like. It could be funny, exciting, mysterious, adventurous, or completely crazy, there are no rules about what your story has to be!




Today is Choose Your Own Adventure!
Today I’m going on an adventure.
I’m going to Treasure Island. I’m going to dig in the sand for buried treasure! When I find the treasure box, I open it and find chocolate, puppies, and jewellery.
Next, I’m going to space. I’ll travel in my rocket all the way to Saturn. I meet a nice alien who says hi to me, and we explore the planet together. We see a meteor shower that looks like sparkling balls.
I’m leaving Saturn to go to Dinosaur World! I’m hiding because the dinosaurs are scary!
But then I make friends with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. She lets me ride on her back, and she invites me to meet all of her dinosaur friends, until something unexpected happens! We hear a loud noise. A volcano is erupting! I realise it’s time for me to go!
Off to the Fairy Kingdom I go! Princess Ronalda rides on her Tyrannosaurus Rex to the Fairy Kingdom. When we arrive, we go to the flower garden to pick some flowers for my dinosaur friend. Then we visit a fairy princess in her castle. My dinosaur friend fits inside the castle, so we have a lovely tea party.
The sun is going down now, and it’s getting late. Time for Ronalda to go home.

I like staying at home and watching movies or YouTube while eating my yummy popcorn. I love watching scary games on YouTube, and I watch people play them all the time. Sometimes the scary parts make me jump, and my popcorn goes all over the floor. Oh Lord!
Sometimes I go out with my friends too. They’re really cool, and I always have fun with them.

On Thursday we watched Melbourne Storm against the Panthers, but we lost the game. We hate the Panthers, but we know that’s just how the game goes sometimes. The next round is Melbourne Storm vs Broncos, and hopefully we win this time. They play tonight.
On Friday, my dad, my sister, and I went to see Collingwood against Brisbane, but Collingwood lost because Brisbane got the bigger score. We left the stadium after the game.
The first AFL final is Collingwood vs Bulldogs. Hopefully Collingwood wins, but we’ll have to wait and see. If they lose, we’re cooked!
On Saturday, my dad and I went to Fountain Gate and visited the AFL Store. I bought a Scott Pendlebury bobblehead, so now I have three Collingwood bobbleheads and one Melbourne Storm bobblehead. I’ll get another one next time.
On Sunday, I kept working on the villager’s hair for my 3D animation. On Monday, I almost finished my 3D animation and made the boss battle for the episode. On Tuesday, I finished making my house with all the bricks for my stop motion. I can’t wait to make the video called The Dream of the Lake House. I’m really looking forward to it.
My mum and I also went to see Parkway Drive, the Aussie band, and we were so close to the stage. There were three Aussie bands playing. The first band was Bad/Love, and they were really good. The second band was Hands Like Houses. It’s a weird band name, but they were okay. The singer jumped off the stage to join the mosh pit, which was crazy! Then Parkway Drive came on. We were in the mosh pit, and everyone was going crazy. I didn’t fall over, but we almost got crushed because everyone was pushing. I was trying to take videos at the same time! It was one of the greatest Aussie metal concerts ever. We were so exhausted afterwards that I took the next day off. Yesterday I just vacuumed my room upstairs.

Today I decided to write about Father’s Day.
This year, Father’s Day is on Sunday, 6th September. Last year, I bought Dad two pairs of socks with cute designs. One had Shrek on it, and the other had Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.
I usually make Father’s Day arts and crafts at my Handmade group. I do not remember what I made last year for Father’s Day, but I do remember that a long time ago we made a snack jar. Inside the jar were pretzels, M&M’s, and nuts.
I also like writing cards for Father’s Day. I love putting cute stickers on the cards too. Dad always appreciates my gifts.
We do not usually do anything big for Father’s Day. We wish Dad a Happy Father’s Day, give him a hug, and give him his gift. However, I remember when my brother, cousin, and I were younger, we went out for dinner to celebrate Father’s Day. We went to Lazy Moe’s in Oakleigh.
Now I would like to write about my dad. I love my dad because he is a great cook. He cooks most days. Mum can cook too, but she mostly cooks on the weekends because she is a busy bee during the week while she is at work.
Dad works too. He works really hard and wakes up early to go to work. Even during winter, when it is still dark in the morning, he keeps working.
After work, Dad rests for a little while, has a shower, and then prepares food for his dad, who lived in aged care for three years. Dad often falls asleep on the sofa because he is exhausted, and he can fall asleep quite easily.
Dad can cook a variety of food. He can cook both Indonesian and Western dishes. My family and I love both Indonesian and Western food. Dad cooked some special dinners when my brother returned home after working in another country for three years. He made sausage rolls, lasagna, and potato bake with cauliflower.
I also love my dad because he takes me to fun places. I really enjoyed it when he took our family to Safari Park in Indonesia when my brother and I were still kids.
He has also taken our family to many fun places in Australia. We have been to Bright, Geelong, and Phillip Island. He even drove us all the way to Adelaide!
Dad usually plans our holidays. I wish I could travel more often like Cindy, who goes to Bali often, but it depends on our family budget. Last year, Dad organised our holiday to Indonesia in October. We have no idea when we will go on another big trip because Dad needs to save up first.
I also want to work hard at Woolworths so that one day I can contribute towards our family holidays.
Sometimes Dad tells me off when I make a mistake. For example, one time when we were on holiday, I forgot to knock on his door before entering his room. I can feel upset when Mum or Dad tells me off, but I know Dad wants me to become a better person.
I also do not like making mistakes, but everybody has tiny oops moments. Making a mistake does not mean we are bad. It is something we can learn from.
Dad and I have different interests. Dad enjoys cooking and watching sports, while I prefer watching animation. Even though we do not always enjoy the same things, we still get along well.
I am grateful for everything Dad does for our family. He works hard, cooks delicious food, takes us on adventures, and supports me in many ways.

So Ive an idea to write a letter to my younger self and tell her how much has happened and how much she has  achieved here’s go.


Dear Haley,


You’ve reached level 35, almost 36.


You were born in November 1990. You spent most of your early life in hospital, but you don’t remember too much of that.


One story Mum and Dad always tell you is that the doctors thought you were blind and deaf. They asked the house paediatric nurse to come and do a test. She put hundreds and thousands on the floor, and you reached out for them. That’s when they knew you weren’t fully blind. What a relief.


As a child and young adult, you completed Year 12. Not by much, but you did it despite all the hurdles that came your way. I think Year 10 or 11 was probably your hardest year. There was a mean person in your friendship group, which led you to sit in the corridors by yourself at recess and lunch.


But once again, you were strong and handled it really well, even when your best friend since kindergarten chose to side with the mean person.


You’ve achieved so much, both in and out of high school. You even received Excellence Awards in IT and Food Technology, and you earned your Green Cord in Scouts.


After Year 12, you had an interview for your dream job. Sadly, you didn’t get it. It broke your heart because it was all you had ever dreamed of doing.


Instead, you ended up working through a job agency in nursery gardening. It turned out you loved it, but there was another hurdle. Every job only lasted about 16 weeks, so for a while you felt like a ping pong ball, constantly moving from one job to another.


You’ve travelled to so many amazing places, including China, Thailand, New Zealand, and Bali. Every trip became its own adventure.


In your mid twenties, your best friend of almost 20 years ended your friendship because her boyfriend didn’t like you. That really hurt, but it also made room for new friendships. Those friends are still in your life today, and you treasure them with all your heart.


You’ve also had a few surgeries to help you along the way. I won’t go into the details because I don’t want to gross you out, but they were just more hurdles that you overcame.


For now, I think you would be so proud of everything you’ve achieved and everything you’ve survived. I want you to know that I’m still trying my best to chase all of our dreams. Sometimes it’s really hard because of the way our brain works, but I’m trying for you.


We’re in this together. No matter how high the hurdles are, we are strong.

Do you ever have something that you’re waiting for and you’re super excited about it, but it feels like it’s never going to happen because it’s so far away? This is me right now. I’m excitedly waiting for an album to come out later this year and a concert I’m going to next year. The countdown doesn’t seem to be moving fast enough, though I’m trying to be very patient and I know it will come eventually. It’s nice to have things to look forward to, though.


Now I’d better tell you what I’m waiting for. On the 6th of November 2026, Delta Goodrem’s eighth studio album, Pure, will be released. As a good and loyal Delta Goodrem fan, I have already pre ordered the physical CD, pre ordered the album on iTunes and Apple Music, and pre saved it on Spotify.


While the full album won’t be out until November, Delta has been kind enough to share two songs from the album with us already, and there’s a third coming out on the 28th of August. (It will have already been released by the time this blog comes out.) The songs Eclipse and Hologram were the first two to be released, and next is Warrior.


It has me wondering about all the other songs on the album, and I’m really excited for that first listen when I can finally hear the album in full. It’s such a cool feeling when your favourite artist releases new music, but it’s the waiting that gets me every time. This isn’t me complaining in any way. I’m just very excited and looking forward to it.


I am also very lucky to have tickets to her tour in April 2027. My lovely sister will be joining me, even though she isn’t quite as enthusiastic about Delta as I am. That’s okay because we all like different things, and that makes us who we are. Plus, I think it’s really lovely that she is coming with me, and I’m very grateful.

It was Sam’s Birthday!

Tonight I am going to TGI Fridays for my birthday dinner!

1. I like how big it is.
2. I choose ice cream for dessert.

4. I eat crispy chicken and chicken wings.

Then Sam has a birthday cake and invites all his friends to celebrate. Sam’s friends all enjoy different foods, and everyone has a great time together.

Dear Readers,


How are you? Today’s topic is Choose Your Own Adventure, and I have chosen to write about a spa day.


Once upon a time, I decided to have a full spa day. I was going to get new lashes and have a facial. When I arrived at the spa, I was offered a robe and shown to a room to get changed. When the beautician arrived, she asked me to lie on the bed and started putting cream on my face. She cleansed my face, which was very relaxing.


She told me her name was Willow and that she had a new little puppy that she had brought to work. She said I could name the puppy. I had a very long think and decided on the name Molly, and she loved it. Willow put Molly on my chest, and it was so cute. Molly lay there without moving. Then Willow asked if I wanted to have Molly because she was moving house. Of course I said, “Yes, please!”


To end the perfect day, Willow did my hair and makeup, and I went home with Molly. It was the perfect adventure to end a perfect day. That’s where my story ends for today. I’m so excited to welcome my new puppy, Molly, into my life, and I can’t wait for many more adventures together.

Cindy’s Bali Belly Adventure


Cindy is living her best island life in beautiful Bali, enjoying the sunshine, tropical scenery and plenty of relaxation. Well, that was the plan until Bali belly decided to make an unexpected appearance! Suddenly, exotic Balinese breakfasts were replaced with the comfort and safety of good old Vegemite toast. Sometimes, when your stomach is staging a protest, you just have to stick with what you know!


Thankfully, Cindy is now feeling much better and is slowly getting back to enjoying everything Bali has to offer. The sun is shining, the holiday vibes are back, and there is even talk of cocktails later today!


After all, a Bali holiday isn’t complete without a little adventure, and Cindy has certainly had hers. Hopefully the cocktails behave themselves better than the Bali belly did! For now, it’s Vegemite toast, plenty of rest and a positive attitude before getting back out there.
