Today is choosing your own adventure so I’ll be blogging from home. On Monday afternoon. I was in the lounge room with my mum and my dad just talking and then I was walking and I slipped over. I heard a crack and I screamed. Mum and dad asked what happened and I said I think I’ve done something to my foot so my mum rang triple 0. I took my socks off. My ankle was so sore. It was my right ankle as well and I was laying on the floor in shock. My dog was looking after me. She was barking at all the other animals. I was told by my mum that I was going to wait for 3 and a 1/2 hours to 4 hours for an ambulance and I could not move could not sit up at 4 o’clock my two brothers and my dad had to get me off the floor. My older brother took me to the hospital in my car and drove me to the nearest hospital. I told them what happened not even five minutes being there. I was then taken to another room and they said who brought you here and I said my brother so my brother told him to come back and sit with me for a bit. I rang my mum to tell her what was going on and she said that’s not good and they did an x-ray. They couldn’t see anything broken.
They put a half cast on my leg and then they did another x-ray and yes it was broken. I rang my mum to tell her that I was ready to come home. I only had 3 1/2 hours sleep my mum only had one hour of sleep and at 7:55 on Tuesday morning I got a phone call from the orthopaedic people saying that I needed to come back. Originally, they thought I needed surgery, but I didn’t. The orthopaedic surgeon fit me with a moon boot. Thank you for reading my blog and by the way I broken my fibula and my other side of my ankle so that’s why I mean so much pain thank you for reading my blog. Stay strong. Don’t do what I did. See you guys soon. Ash Today we are choosing our own adventure blogs, sometimes choosing a ‘choose your own adventure’ blog comes at just the right time and other times it’s the bain of my existence. Thinking of a topic can be the hardest thing to do. Especially when it feels like you’ve been put on the spot, we do have the most supportive group to bounce ideas off, and that makes all the difference. I think coffee and snacks help too. Lately I have been thinking about different topics that we can use for our blogs, because I want to be able to contribute to the group and be helpful to my blogging friends with their blogs. Doing a little solo brainstorm on topics for future blogs does help me with the writing process. Sometimes it’s also just to break up my day from other non-blogging activities on other days. There’s a lot that goes into our blog writing, but the topic is important and without it there would be no blogs I suppose. Which would be sad for you, our readers. Don’t worry though we aren’t going anywhere and there will always be another topic for us to adventure into, it’s still exciting to write blogs for you all. While we may be doing the same thing our writings are always going to be different whether it’s a choose your own adventure or one of the topics we do together. Each of us are very talented and have our own minds. To sum it all up writing is a kind of magic and gets us all thinking . Love to all, your friend, Shan Last night, I caught up with an old neighbourhood friend, she works as a midwife, so she has a busy schedule, so it’s so special when we catch up. I think the last time we caught up was in February for Amy Shark, and we went to a high tea in Olinda and saw an alpaca. Anyways getting back to last night, she picked me up around 6.30 at night, we went to McDonald’s for tea then headed into the city. We talked and laughed about our childhood. Our cats, pretty much anything, just reminiscing about our childhoods. We got into the city, and parked the car, and walked to the Aquarium, yes that right, we went to the Aquarium after dark. It was so different as all of the lights were out. We got to our seats, sat down and we were both mesmerised by the group of fish swimming in the tank, there was also a sting ray or a mantra ray, swordfish and a turtle. The stage was placed in the middle of the room and battery operated candles, “safety first”. The performers came out dressed up for Halloween. They introduced themselves then they started to play the music. The first tune they played was from Friday the 13th 1,2,3, followed by the Nightmare on Elm Street theme. Then The Conjuring, Final Destination, Pennywise, The Lost Boys and a few more like The Shining and The Exorcist. It was just so perfectly creepy, just being candle lights it gave me goosebumps. Before they started playing the instruments, people only saw the sting ray. Floating, but as soon as the music started, it swam side ways and you saw underneath and saw its smiling face and it was hilarious, like it wanted to scare us but instead it made most people laugh. Then the third song in, a fish just stayed in the one spot until the very last song. Cheeky bugger, got a free show. It was my first time doing something like this but it was my friends third or fourth time going to a candle light performance. I think I may take my mum and dad to a Christmas one, because I think they would love it. They have heaps of different themes to go see, for example, Fleetwood Mac and punk music. Thank you for taking your time to read my own “choose your own adventure blog”, and I hope I’ve given inspiration on going to a candle light show one time or something new. Haley Dear readers , this week’s topic is a choose your own adventure. Let me start by telling you about my new job, I work at an RSL. I work with all the chefs in the kitchen down at the RSL, I work every Monday for three hours. I love my job because I get to work with chefs. One day I hope to become a chef and own my own restaurant. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be a chef because I have a love and passion for food and I’m also really good at cooking different types of food (except steak). I cook dinner for my family most nights which I enjoy. Written by Charlotte. Today’s blog topic is choose your own adventure and I’m going to talk about my recent holiday Last week I went on a Disney cruise for three nights and I loved it! I went with my mum, dad and cousins, I shared the room with my parents and I slept on the couch. The first day I did some dancing all night and had lots of fun, I had a yummy dinner and dessert. I loved when they did the fireworks at night time. Every night I went to the theatre to watch the show, I watched Frozen and two other shows, mum ate popcorn while she watched but I didn't. The second night was pirate night, which was so much fun, everyone dressed up as pirates and got into character. For breakfast we would go to the buffet which was so yummy, they had the best food on the cruise. I loved walking around the ship and meeting all the Disney characters, I met Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, daffy duck, Pluto, Elsa, Ariel, Merida, Moana and many more. I did some of the activities on the cruise like karaoke and trivia, it was fun to do with my family. I enjoyed going into the spa as it was nice and warm, the pool was too cold for me! There was different themed restaurants I went to for dinner which was really cool, I enjoyed going to Tiana's place which is from the Princess and the Frog. I had the best holiday and can't wait to go on another cruise one day. This is Claire signing off. Choose my own adventure. This is Korey signing off. And have a good awesome day. This was my first time going to Bali. Our driver picked us up from the airport, and we stayed at Natura Resort in Ubud. When we got into our room, it was cool and cozy. Outside the room was a garden, so it was best not to leave the door open too long, or insects could come in. On the first morning in Bali, we went to Ubud Palace. Mum and I had a spa at the resort, and while I was relaxing, I could hear someone playing Christmas carols outside. I felt proud of myself for trying new things, and I also got to chill in the pool on my last day in Ubud. Next, we stayed at Ayodya Resort in Nusa Dua. It had a beautiful koi fish pond that made my heart warm, and colorful fish in an aquarium. The buffet breakfast was amazing—I ate more than usual and even had ice cream after finishing my meal. I also visited Bali Zoo and Marine Park with my parents. I bought a turtle shirt for myself and another Bali souvenir t-shirt. After Bali, we stayed at Fairfield Hotel in Surabaya for one night and had dinner with my brother, grandma, aunty, and some cousins. The next day, we woke up early and went to Central Java. My aunt drove us to the train station, and when we arrived, our driver took us to Manohara Hotel in Jogja. I shared a room with my grandma and brother. We visited different temples, like Borobudur and Prambanan, on separate days. I had been to these temples as a child, but this time I stayed with Dad and chilled instead of climbing. We also went to Semarang and reunited with my grandpa's niece. I had a treat in the car—Chitato potato chips and Indomilk, which is like an Up & Go drink. We spent a week in Central Java before heading back to Surabaya by train. While there, we celebrated my grandma's 80th birthday with lunch alongside her siblings. I sat at the same table with my cousins and my great aunty's son and his wife. The waiter surprised my grandma with a cake and birthday songs. Although Surabaya didn’t have much sightseeing, I went to Malang with some cousins. We had lunch, dessert, and afternoon tea before heading back to Surabaya. On our last day, my grandma had another birthday lunch. We used the VIP room, which had karaoke. There were both modern and oldies songs to choose from—what’s your favourite song to sing at karaoke? It was a happy but tiring trip. I slept in once I got back to my own bed. Thanks for reading! This is Jacinda signing off. Dear readers, today’s topic is a choose your own adventure. I have chosen to write about my mum going on a cruise. Mum spent most of the days packing and didn't know what to pack because she has never been on one before so this is her first time. Once she was all packed she went to bed. She left home at 5:00am on Tuesday and then they got dressed and then headed to the airport. Once boarded the plane and then flew to Brisbane airport and then when they landed they drove or they got a cab to the Brisbane docks and then waited to board the cruise and didn't leave until three in the afternoon and then when it hit three in the afternoon they set sail. She went on the cruise with her partner and to be honest with you the first two days were so hard knowing that she is not going to be home. I found Tuesday morning very hard that I got very emotional and I tried to keep it together and not let it get to me. I was around very supportive people and support workers who helped me. Mum and her partner come home on Saturday and I am so excited to see them. I can't wait. She has been sending me photos and calling just checking on us. Thank you for reading my blog. This is Princess Beth signing off until next week.
